Museum Weißenhorn
Conversion and development
bk-konzepte were commissioned with drafting a project outline, a masterplan, a spatial and functional development plan including a fully accessible visitor flow.
A new entrance area was located in order to enhance the attraction of the museum. All conceptual planning was presented to local authorities and stakeholders as a basis of decision-making.
The well-preserved historical buildings in the village centre of Weißenhorn are linked to the history of the city to constitute key exhibits within the new permanent exhibition.
The exhibition is based on a storyline that follows a sightseeing tour through the ancient town. Historical buildings and sites form a panoramic view featuring specific historical events. Each topical area is linked to a specific site, a timeframe and its key players. Each chapter generates a three-dimensional visitor experience.
