Mozarthaus Augsburg
Project outline
Mozarthaus Augsburg is one of the most widely known museums in the German-speaking area featuring a musician or composer. bk-konzepte were assigned to develop a project outline for a new permanent exhibition and to compile a call for tender on design services.
The music, musical manuals and above all the vast correspondence of Leopold Mozart form an essential part of cultural heritage at Augsburg. Consequently these comprise key elements of the visitor experience in the exhibition.
All activities at the museum were taken into account and reorganised in a spatial and functional development plan. Visitors are invited to explore and deepen their knowledge about the Mozart family and furthermore to participate in a discussion of current issues debated within the research community.
The permanent exhibition reflects on the traditional image of Leopold Mozart as an artist, musician, composer, teacher, father and profound observer of his time.
